Where we stand
We have sufficient funds to begin the construction of the fields.
The first phase of construction is removal of unsuitable materials and build up to sub-grade.  The cost for this is hard to predict.  With no firm prediction of the cost of the underlying work, we can not say if we have raised enough funds to fully realize the vision of two lit fields in the first round of construction.  This makes the ongoing fundraising effort very important, as it will have a large bearing on how much of the project we can build this year.
We are confidant we will build one field this year, and equipping it with lights is our goal.  We can not say what shape the second field will take during this first round of construction.

Sources of Funding
Our project is supported by all three levels of Government as well as private and corporate donations.  The town of Quispamsis has given $300,000, the Province of NB has matched that, and the federal government has contributed $250,000.  The late Aurthur Miller, in memorium of his brother Usher Miller, made a very generous donation of $1,000,000.  Fundraising within the community has also raised some money.
The original vision for the fields was that fundraising and user fees would be important tools to raise money for maintenance and eventual replacement of the fields.  The current fundraising campaigns are the expression of that vision.  The fields are being constructed by a volunteer organization with no tax base or other means of support beyond these sorts of efforts.
It is likely that the funds being raised now will be required to complete the construction of the project in that they will be used to build the second field.

Current Campaigns
The project was originally conceived as an endeavor that would require fundraising throughout the life of the fields to raise money for maintenance and replacement.  We have begun that effort with the KVHS Family campaign for KVHS staff and students past and present.  The KV Community campaign, which will kick off soon, will provide the general public (business and individuals) the opportunity to support our project.  The Corporate Friends campaign will recognize the critical assistance that many area businesses have already provided, and provide a method of continuing to support the fields.

Who was Usher Miller?
--Coming Soon--

Thank you very much to the Southern Region Soccer League for providing this phase of the KV Fields Project a home.  These fields are being built through a team effort, by volunteers, and every single resource that can be provided by the community raises all our spirits and moves us closer to getting out of the office and onto the filed to play a game.  Thanks again and see you on the field!
